Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 27, 2026
1. Introduction
Cogmus ("Cogmus," "we," "our," or "us") operates cogmus.com (the "Site"), an informational website for our AI perception research lab. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.
By accessing the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.
2. Information We Collect
We collect two categories of information:
Automatically Collected Data
When you visit the Site, our servers and analytics tools may automatically record: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time and date of visit, and session duration. This data is collected in aggregate and is not linked to any personally identifiable information.
Voluntarily Provided Data
If you contact us by email at reach@cogmus.com, we collect the information you choose to include in your message, such as your name and email address. We use this solely to respond to your inquiry.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
- Analyze traffic patterns and understand how visitors use the Site
- Respond to inquiries submitted via email
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Site may use first-party cookies and similar technologies (e.g., local storage) strictly for analytics purposes — to understand aggregate visitor behavior and improve the Site experience. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Disabling cookies will not affect the core functionality of this informational site.
5. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party analytics providers (such as Vercel Analytics) to help us understand Site usage. These providers may collect data subject to their own privacy policies. We do not grant them access to any personally identifiable information you share with us directly.
This Site contains links to our products — Perceptia Gateway and Perceptia MCP — which are operated as separate services with their own independent privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies before using those products.
6. Data Retention
Aggregate analytics data is retained for up to 24 months for the purpose of trend analysis and Site improvement. Email correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your inquiry and for record-keeping, unless you request deletion sooner.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification: request correction of inaccurate information
- Erasure: request deletion of your personal data
- Opt-out: California residents may opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data, but this right is acknowledged)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at reach@cogmus.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to exercise caution when sharing sensitive information over any online channel.
9. Children's Privacy
This Site is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
